How it works
The basics.
Is it an app or a website?
Both — Medvedin runs in the browser on any device. On your phone you can "install" it straight from the browser (Chrome or Safari), and it opens like a regular app, with an icon on your home screen and notifications. No app stores, no updates to chase.
Which device should I use?
Any of them: iPhone, Android, laptop, tablet — it's the same Medvedin everywhere. The phone is the handiest (it's always with you, and reminders land there). A laptop comes in handy for a vet juggling dozens of patients.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Once you've opened the app at least once, it works offline: all your pets, medications, and history live in your phone's memory. Mark a dose in a basement or out at the cottage — it goes into the queue and syncs to the server automatically the moment you're back online.
If something didn't go through, you'll see a yellow "Queued: N" badge and can send it manually.
When do notifications reach my phone?
At the scheduled dose time. If someone in the family already marked it "given" from another phone, the reminder won't repeat on yours. Until a dose is marked, it stays in "Today" and won't get lost.
You can turn notifications off for an individual medication (say, you don't need the reminder but your helper does).
Pets and helpers
Who can do what.
How many pets can I add?
As many as you need for now. When we launch Pro for multiple pets, the basic plan will stay at 1 pet — but that's a way off, and we'll give you a heads-up.
How do I invite my partner or my mom?
In the pet's settings, under "Access" — enter the person's email and tap "Invite." They need to sign in to Medvedin at least once first, so the system knows them.
After the invite, that same pet with the same schedule shows up on their "Pets" screen.
Can I invite my vet too?
Yes. Open "Access" in the pet's settings and invite the vet by email — they'll see the schedule, the dose history, the lab results, and can log events right alongside you.
Can a vet manage their own patients in Medvedin?
Yes. Clinic onboarding is coming soon — keep an eye on the for vets page, or message us on Telegram if it's already relevant for you.
What if I want to revoke access?
One tap in "Access" — pick the helper, tap "Revoke." A second later they lose access to the pet. You can't delete someone's Medvedin account (it's their data), only remove them from the pet's access.
Security and data
What we do with it.
Where is the data stored?
On servers in Russia. Every medication, measurement, and lab result is tied to a specific pet and visible only to people with access. Everything travels over a secure connection (TLS).
Can I export my history?
Yes: PDF (to print for your vet) and CSV (for your own archive or Excel). Available to everyone, no limits.
Will you delete my account if I ask?
Yes, anytime. Reach out via the contacts page — we'll erase everything within 7 days. You can export your history before deletion.
Lab result recognition
Smart, within reason.
What gets recognized in a lab file?
Blood chemistry, urinalysis, a complete blood count with differential, free T4, SDMA — the most common panels. Medvedin scans the file for known markers and compares them against the norms for your pet's species.
Recognition is a hint. The final word always belongs to your vet.
What if my results come from some obscure lab?
The file still attaches to the record — it'll be visible and accessible. Recognition just won't kick in, and the app shows the file as a "plain document." You can type the values in by hand.
Is this a diagnosis?
No. Medvedin is a tracker, not a doctor. A "creatinine above normal" flag is a reason to talk to your vet — not a reason to start treating things off the internet.
